Peter C. Mazzei, Sr.'s Obituary
Peter C. Mazzei, Sr., 78, of Alliance, died on Monday, December 12, 2005, at 9:20 p.m. at Canterbury Villa of Alliance. A lifelong resident, Mr. Mazzei was born in Alliance on December 4, 1927. He was a member of the U.S. Navy and served with the "Sea Bees" during World War II in the Pacific. Pete previously worked at the B & W Rush Street Plant from 1948 to 1963. He retired as a molder from American Steel Foundry where he had been employed from 1963 until 1990. He was a member of the Dante Alighieri Society and he enjoyed walking and bowling. He is survived by his wife, Katherine M. (Tatu) Mazzei whom he married on May 24, 1952; two daughters, Carol and Mary K., both of the home; two sons, Peter C., Jr., of Akron and John M. of Ravenna; four grandchildren, Philip, Joshua, Erin, and Chrissy; one great-granddaughter, Kriston; two sisters, Flora Howell and Esther Mazzei, both of Alliance; two brothers, Harry Mazzei of Alliance and Joe Mazzei of South Carolina; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Patsy and Mary (Butchelli) Mazzei; and a sister, Rose Manera. At his request, cremation will take place. There will be no services or calling hours. Arrangements are being handled by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
