Peggy J. Greschaw's Obituary
Peggy J. Greschaw, 80, of Alliance, formerly of Guilford Lake, died on Thursday, January 20, 2005, at 9:40 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born in Detroit, MI, on October 4, 1924, she has been a resident of the Alliance area for the past six years. Mrs. Greschaw was a member of the Alliance Baptist Temple. Peggy retired from the former Glogan s Hardware in Salem where she had been employed as a bookkeeper. She was very active with the Gilford Lake Ruritan Club and was an honorary member of the Paralyzed Veterans of America. Mrs. Greschaw enjoyed crocheting, playing the piano and cards, doing crossword puzzles, and gardening. She truly loved her children and grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Pam and Randy Barrett of Alliance; a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Mary Greschaw of Royse City, TX, and son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Wendy Greschaw of Washingtonville; 12 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren; a sister, Maxine Hurst of Livonia, MI; a niece; and two nephews. Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth H. Greschaw on March 28, 2000 (they were married on May 18, 1946); her parents, Clyde and Bessie Jackson; and a brother, Lawrence Jackson. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Randy Payne of the Alliance Baptist Temple officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
