Paul David Scott's Obituary
After a courageous battle with cancer, Paul David Scott, 66 of Homeworth, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 13, 2003, at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Homeworth, on September 16, 1936, he had been a resident of Homeworth all of his life attending Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church. Paul attended Minerva High School. He served as president of the Columbiana County Fireman's Association, and was a member of the Homeworth Volunteer Fire Department since 1958 serving as chief for several years. He also served his community as a township trustee. He was employed at Stark Ceramics in East Canton and at Yale of Cleveland before opening Scotty's Lift Truck Service in 1971. He retired in 2002. Paul enjoyed traveling, country and gospel music, riding his Harley, flying his airplane and restoring antique cars. He was a member of the Carnation Auto Classics, and the Taylorcraft Flying Club. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Joyce (Brandt) Scott; daughters, Sheryl (Dick) Cawrse of Huron, Penny (Dave) Neubauer, and Theresa Carpenter, both of Alliance, and Jennifer Babcock of Huron; sons, David (Debbie) Scott, and Dale (Diane) Scott, both of Alliance; 16 grandchildren; sisters, Helen Bell and Dorothy Kelly; brothers, Fred, Jr. and Frank, all of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Marie (Tilton) Scott. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, August 15, 2003, from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. and from 10:00 - 11 :00 a.m. at the church on Saturday. Funeral services will be held at Middle Sandy Presbyterian Church in Homeworth on Saturday, August 16, 2003, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Tom A. Sawyer, officiating. Burial will follow at Salem Greenlawn Cemetery at the comer of Beechwood and Salem Church Rd.
