Paul W. Nutter's Obituary
Paul W. Nutter, 87, of Sebring, died on Sunday, May 2, 2004 at 7:18 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Paul was born in Pennsboro, WV, on November 3, 1916. A World War II Navy veteran, he lived in Alliance for 30 years before retiring as a Sergeant from the Alliance Police Force. After retirement, he lived in Florida and South Carolina before recently returning to reside in Sebring. Mr. Nutter was a member of the Fraternal Order of Police, the Alliance Masons, and the American Legion and enjoyed golfing and fishing. He is survived by his wife, Geraldine Gerry Nutter (they were married October 22, 1944); a daughter, Paula J. (Michael) Fox of Chesapeake, VA; a son, Harley E. (Royceann) Nutter of Homeworth; five grandchildren; two sisters, Mary McClish of Traverse City, MI, and Betty McKee of PA; a brother, Robert Nutter of Danville, KY; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harley Ross and Sadie Nutter; a sister, Juanita Baker; and two brothers, Jake and John Nutter. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 5, 2004, from 1 :00 - 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 5, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
