Paul M. Kovach's Obituary
Paul M. Kovach, 84, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, March 3, 2004 at 8:12 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Born on January 26, 1920, in Connellsville, PA, he lived most of his life in Alliance. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy as a gunners mate, 1st class and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036. Mr. Kovach was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. He retired in 1982 from T & W Stamping where he was employed as a welder. He enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, and fishing and he lived his life to the fullest. He is survived by a daughter, Charlene and Robert (Akins) Pilmer of Alliance; one grandson, Bob and Cheryl Pilmer of Minerva; three great-granddaughters; and five great- great-grandchildren; four sisters, Irene Gach of New Jersey, Helen Paina of Alliance, Pauline Choma of Alliance, and Ethel Games of Amherst, OH. Preceding him in death was his wife, Mary Ann (Wydro) Kovach on March 26, 2001, (they were married on June 22, 1953); a grandson, Kevin Lee Pilmer; his parents, Joe and Mary (Matyiku) Kovach; three sisters, Mary Charpon, Magdaline Ramsey, and Vema Kovach; and two brothers, Joe Kovach and Nick Kovach. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
