Paul W. Bankovich, Sr.'s Obituary
Paul W. Bankovich Sr., 93, of Alliance, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2016 at St. Joseph Care Center in Louisville, Ohio.
Born on February 18, 1923 in Alliance, Ohio to Paul and Amelia (Srmag) Bankovich, he lived in Alliance for all of his life.
Paul was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and was a graduate of Alliance High School. He was also a veteran of World War II, serving our country in the U.S.Army.
Paul retired from the Alliance Machine Co. as a machinist and foreman. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, dancing to Polka music, attending ethnic festivals; but especially loved time with his family
Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann (Larry) Basar of Alliance, OH, Christine Bankovich of Avon Lake, OH, Karen (Tom) Dawes of Hudson, OH; two sons, Paul (Bobbi) Bankovich Jr. of North Canton, OH, Michael (Carla) Bankovich of Hudson, OH; nine grandchildren, Adam Bankovich, Mary Frank, Eric Dawes, Alex Dawes, Francesca Bankovich, Arianna Bankovich, Nina Bankovich, Kristen Vallejo, Alison Basar; 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Bankovich of Louisville, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death was his wife, Helen (Vuksta) Bankovich; his parents, Paul and Amelia Bankovich; sister, Josephine Rabuzzi; brother, Walter Bankovich; and his longtime companion, Emma Beach.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at 11:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Matthew J. Mankowski, as celebrant. Burial, with military honors, will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
