Paul Blaine Bailey's Obituary
Paul Blaine Bailey, 71, of Alliance, died on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at 10:45 a.m. at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio. Born on October 19, 1937 in Salem, West Virginia, he received his education at Doddridge County Schools. He had lived in Alliance since 2003. A member of Mt. Olive Church in Salem, WV, he retired from East Ohio Gas Co., after 38 years of service. Paul always enjoyed having coffee with his friends in various places and in his past-time, he enjoyed fishing and deer hunting with his family in West Virginia and Southern Ohio. He loved "Toby the cat" and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his fianc e, Barb Swinton of Alliance, OH; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelli and Bill Wood of Springfield, OH; a son, Earnest Bailey of Leland, NC; five grandchildren, Adam (Krisha) Bailey, Bryan (Amber) Wood, Jessi (Chris Thomas) Wood, Kevin Wood and Erin Bailey; two great-granddaughters, Katie and Samantha; a sister, Carolyn (Dale) Davis of Pennsboro, WV; a brother, Keith (Debbie) Bailey of Weston, WV; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Altus Paul and Sophia Belle (Chipps) Bailey; and a brother, William Guy Bailey. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 28, 2009, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 10:00 a.m., with his grandson Bryan Wood, officiating. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring, Ohio.
