Patricia Lynn Zurbrugg's Obituary
Patricia Lynn Zurbrugg, 72, of Alliance, passed away peacefully at her home, with her family at her side, on Saturday, April 14, 2007, at 5:00 a.m., after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on August 20, 1934 in North College Hill, Ohio, a suburb of Cincinnati. A graduate of North College Hill High School, she then attended Miami University at Oxford, where she received her Bachelor of Education Degree in 1955. Mrs. Zurbrugg had taught at Hiawatha Jr. High School near DeKalb, Illinois and after moving back to the Alliance area in 1975, she had taught at Regina Coeli Catholic School and subsequently at Maple Ridge Elementary School, until her retirement. She was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church. She enjoyed gardening, sports & nature, however, her husband, children and grandchildren were the loves of her life. She leaves behind her husband, Ralph Zurbrugg, whom she married on September 11, 1954; her children, Lisa (Bill) Korosy, Cindy Zurbrugg, Chris (Christina) Zurbrugg, Laura (Don) Sams and Amy (Bo) Benedetti, all of Alliance; a daughter-in-law, Anita Zurbrugg of DeKalb, IL; twenty-five grandchildren, Brenna, Kara & Adam Zurbrugg, Rita, Sheila, David, Wayne & Frederick Korosy, Michael & Kya Orsburn, Caroline, Carissa, Mary, Erika & Brendan Zurbrugg, Matthew, Kristen, Melissa, Tara, Maria & Brooke Sams, and Ray, Alex, Anna & Anthony Benedetti; eight great-grandchildren; her mother, Catharine (Thesken) Schneider of Cincinnati, OH; a sister, Kathleen (Charles) Amand of Richfield, MN; a brother, Thomas (Trudy) Schneider of Cincinnati, OH; an aunt, Theodora Schubert of Cincinnati, OH; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Michael Zurbrugg in 1993; a grandson, Phillip Zurbrugg; and her father, Earl Schneider. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 17, 2007, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Seifert, as celebrant. Interment will follow at Grandview Cemetery in Sebring.
