Patricia A. Virden 's Obituary
Patricia A. (Chiporo) Virden, 78, of Alliance, passed away following a sudden illness, on Saturday, March 19, 2016 at 3:05 pm at Alliance Community Hospital in Alliance, Ohio.
Born on March 17, 1938 in Alliance, Ohio to Salvatore and Rose (Perry) Chiporo, she lived in Alliance all of her life. She was a 1957 graduate of Alliance High School. Patricia was involved with her Alliance High School Class Reunion Committee since graduation.
Patricia was employed at GE Capital as an Account Specialist and retired on March 1, 2003 after 15 years of service. She had previously been employed at Roker Nursing Home as Activity Director, and at Miller’s Flowerland as a floral designer.
Patricia was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. She was also was a member of Alliance Senior Center & the Roma Club. Patricia enjoyed bingo, sewing, crafts, camping and dancing.
Survivors include three sons, Randall L. Virden of Alliance, OH, Gregory A. Virden of Alliance, OH, & Michael A. (Teri) Virden of Alliance, OH; four grandchildren, Jamie L. Clements of Jacksonville, FL, Alexander J. Virden of Alliance, OH, Dylan J. Virden of Piqua, OH, & Alissa Hatfield of East Liverpool, OH; 5 great-grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Joseph L. Virden, whom she married on October 12, 1958; her parents, Salvatore & Rose (Perry) Chiporo; three sisters, Jenny Borland, Christina Sayers, & Marjorie Porter; and three brothers, Sam, Thomas, & Larry Chiporo.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm with Rev. David L. Andrews, of Union Avenue United Methodist Church officiating. Entombment will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
