Patricia Ruth (Gray) "Pat" Miller's Obituary
Pat went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 9, 2014. She died unexpectedly while taking her daily morning walk. She was born in Millersburg, Ohio July 7, 1927 to the late Ralph D. Gray and Edith (Parkinson) Gray. Pat was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her family and friends will always remember her joy, laughter and positive outlook on life. She brought happiness to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. Pat was an active member of First Friends Church and served her Lord in many areas over the years including nursery, F.R.O.G. program, VBS, Overseer Coordinator, Missions Committee, greeter and any volunteer job that she was asked to do always with a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone. She had worked at Alliance Community Hospital for over 20 years and was also known as an avid Cleveland sports fan. Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Jack A. Miller, Sr.; two grandsons, Billy Simons and Eric Gustafson; and her brother, Richard P. Gray. She is survived by two daughters; Debbie (Carl) Gustafson of Alliance and Karen L. Lawrence of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; two sons, Samuel (Sharon) A. Miller of Massillon and Jack A. Miller, Jr. of Alliance; one sister, Marilyn Lydic of Millersburg, OH; one sister-in-law, Julia Gray of Millersburg, OH; and one brother, Ralph D. (Nan) Gray, Jr. of Morristown, New Jersey. Pat is also survived by 12 grandchildren; and 25 great grandchildren, all of whom she loved and adored. She will also be remembered with love and fondness by many nieces, nephews and friends from every era of her life. The family will receive friends at the Alliance Friends Church on Monday, October 13, 2014, from 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. Her funeral service will begin at 12:30 with Pastor Rick Sams officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Union Cemetery.
