Patricia Ann (Gibbons) Jones' Obituary
Patricia Ann (Gibbons) Jones passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026.
She was born in Alliance on July 12, 1939, to Wilson and Margaret (Howells) Gibbons. She grew up and lived most of her life in Alliance. After living in Beloit for 29 years in the log home which she and her husband built, she moved back to Alliance in 2020.
A 1957 graduate of Alliance High School, she married her high school sweetheart, Earnest A. “Art” Jones on July 25, 1959.
Pat is survived by her children Michael Jones, Brian (Angela) Jones, both of Houston, Texas, Roy (Irene) Jones, of Amboy, Indiana, Robin Hall of Alliance, Ohio and Robert Jones of Massillon, Ohio. She is also survived by five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, three sisters and five brothers
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, two brothers, a sister, and son-in-law Jody Hall.
Pat was a member of Alliance Friends Church since 1956. She taught children in Sunday School for over forty years, served many funeral dinners, and was a member of choir for many years. She also served in the Alliance Christian Women’s Club from 1983-2009.
Pat enjoyed knitting, quilting, crocheting and a variety of other crafts. She gave away many of the things she made. She loved to read. She enjoyed traveling with Art and she liked the Grand Canyon best. She had a love of cooking and baking for family (her lemon pie was a favorite). She made wedding cakes for family and friends. Guests were always welcome in her home.
Visitation will be Friday, July 31 from 4:00 – 7:00 pm, at Alliance Friends Church, 1307 W. State St. Alliance, Ohio.
A service celebrating Pat’s life will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026, at 3:00 PM at Alliance Friends Church, 1307 W. State St. Alliance, Ohio, with visitation from 2:30-3:00. All services will be held at Alliance Friends Church, 1307 W. State St. Alliance, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, Pat requested contributions to EFM - Evangelical Friends Mission in care of Alliance Friend Church.
