Pastor George E. Kiser's Obituary
Pastor George E. Kiser, 69, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 18, 2008, at 1:18 a.m. at his home, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 14, 1938 in Olive Hill, KY, and had lived in Alliance for the last 44 years. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and the Pastor of the Pennsylvania Avenue Free Will Baptist Church. George retired from Chrysler, where he was employed as a press operator. Mr. Kiser was a member of the Northern Ohio Conference of Free Will Baptist Church. His hobbies included antiques and flea markets and he enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Mary (Johnson) Kiser; three daughters, Lena L. (Jeffrey) Stoffer of Minerva, Stephanie L. (Otha) Loving of Alliance and Stacy R. (John) Kent of Alliance; two sons, Harvey E. Kiser of Alliance and Huston E. (Kristen) Kiser of Sebring; thirteen grandchildren, Huston Kiser, Jr., Nicole Eaton, Joshua Kiser, Cody Kiser, Jimmie Bruce, Jordan Stoffer, Dylan Stoffer, Abby Stoffer, Otha Loving, Jr., Luke Loving, Emily Kent, Ethan Kent and Elijah Kent; two great-grandchildren, Daniel Eaton and Aleah Kiser; sisters, Nixola Roe of Olive Hill, KY, Sylvia Maggard of Alliance and Sue Wells of Worthington, KY; brothers, Dennis Kiser of Olive Hill, KY, Phillip Kiser of Olive Hill, KY, Jimmie Kiser of Alliance and brother Tony Kiser of Alliance, his best friend and spiritual leader in the family. Preceding him in death were his parents, Culie W. and Catherine (Conley) Kiser; three sisters, Jean Raybourn, Oney Reynolds and Brenda Kiser; and four brothers, Truman, Norman, Terry Lee and Ray Kiser. The family will receive friends at the Pennsylvania Avenue Free Will Baptist Church on Wednesday, February 20, 2008 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, February 21, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. with Evangelist Chris Russell officiating. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
