Pasquale "Patsy" Viola's Obituary
Pasquale "Patsy" Viola, 77, of Alliance, died on Friday, May 10, 1968 at 10:25 am at Alliance City Hospital.
Born on August 22, 1890 in Avezzano, Italy, to Domenico Viola; and Giovanna (Panei) Viola, he lived in Alliance since 1912.
A veteran of World War 1, he served our country in the U.S. Army Infantry stationed in France as a Corporal.
He was a member of the American Legion, Post 166; the V.F.W. Post 1036; and the DAV (Disabled American Veterans) Chapter 50.
He was currently retired and had been employed at American Steel Foundry as a Crane Operator for 49 years of service.
He was also a member of the Roma Society & the Christopher Columbus Society,
Survivors include his wife, Angeline (DePersico) Viola of the home, whom he married on Jan. 24,1921; three daughters, Jennie (John) Sarchione, Mary (Arthur) Calladine, and Erma (Louis) Skivolocke, all of Alliance; a son, Donald Viola of Riverside, CA; 6 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; two brothers, Dominic Viola, John Viola, both of Italy.
Preceding him in death were his father, Domenico Viola; and his mother, Giovanna (Panei) Viola.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 12, 1968 from 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Funeral Home, where a Rosary will be said at 8:00 pm.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, May 13, 1968 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial, with military honors, will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
