Norman D. Hartenstein 's Obituary
Norman D. Hartenstein, 84, of Sebring, passed away suddenly on Friday, August 11, 2017 at 6:30 a.m. at Copeland Oaks in Sebring.
Born on June 28, 1933 in Alliance, to Sidney C. and Erma E. (Burden) Hartenstein, he lived in Alliance all of his life.
A 1951 graduate of Alliance High School, he served our country in the U.S. Army Airborne during the Korean War.
Norman was employed at Babcock & Wilcox Research as a Machinist, retiring in 1994 after 43 years of service.
Norman enjoyed woodworking, watching his Ohio teams, the Cleveland Browns, Indians and Buckeyes, but loved spending time with his family, especially grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his son, William (Michelle) Hartenstein of Lisbon; his daughter, Beth (Dale) Miller of Key Largo, FL; four grandchildren, Joshua Hartenstein, Brittany Rhodes, Sarah Hartenstein and Nicholas Hartenstein; four great-grandchildren, Logan, Lucas, Adelynn and Bailey; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding him in death were his parents; two sisters, Mabel Jackson and Ruth Schell; and three brothers, Sidney Dan Hartenstein, Donald Hartenstein and William Hartenstein.
His Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
