I was recruited by Norb to join the B&W R&D Division in 1968, and he became my supervisor for several years. It was under his guidance that I learned how to work effectively with engineers—a skill that shaped much of my career. Beyond the office, I came to know Norb’s family well, and his wife was the matron of honor at my wedding in 1970.
Even after retirement, we stayed in touch through Facebook and exchanged Christmas cards each year. When I didn’t receive one from him this past Christmas, I had a feeling that his journey here on earth might be nearing its end.
Norb was a mentor, a connector, and a kind soul. I’m grateful for the impact he had on my life.
