Nedra Todd Stanley's Obituary
Nedra Todd Stanley, 90, of Alliance, died on Saturday, August 1, 2009, with her family at her side. Born on July 10, 1919 in Ripley, West Virginia, to Carl and Wilma (Dudgeon) Todd, Mrs. Stanley graduated from Alliance High School, class of 1937. She was also a graduate of the former Alliance Business College which led to her position at the former City Savings Bank and Trust Co. Mrs. Stanley spent the next 20 years raising her family as a devoted mother and homemaker. She re-entered the work force for the next 26 years with the Eynon-Guthrie and Bodo Insurance Companies. Nedra enjoyed art, literature and community theater. She is survived by a daughter, Anita Stanley Duell of Alliance; a son and daughter-in-law, Clifford W. and Mary Stanley of Princeton, NJ; her brother and sister-in-law, Harold D and Wanda Todd; a sister-in-law, Josephine Todd; her grandchildren, Rick and Linda Damiani of the home, Kimberly and Clint Wagner, and Katherine Stanley; step grandchildren, Kathy Gfeller, Karen Gfeller and Mark Gfeller; great-grandchildren, Dillwyn (her angel boy) Damiani of the home, Kyle and Cayley Wagner, and Nicholas Gfeller; and nieces and nephews, Betty Todd Hayes, Peter Carl Todd, Bonnie Todd Twaddle and Mary Todd Baker. Preceding her in death were her parents, Carl and Wilma Todd; husband, Dillwyn M. Stanley on Oct. 14, 1988; infant son, Norman Douglas Stanley on Feb. 18, 1941; step-daughter, Janet Stanley Gfeller on Dec. 19, 1988; brother-in-law, Howard Carroll on Nov. 11, 1987; sister, Margaret Carroll on Nov. 28, 2008; and a brother, Byron H. Todd on Feb. 8, 1999. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 4, 2009, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at funeral home on Wednesday, August 5, 2009, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at East Carmel Cemetery in Rogers, Ohio.
