Nancy Chenevey's Obituary
On March 13, 2019, Nancy Chenevey, 73, leaped into the arms of Jesus. Her life was cut short on this earth due to a sudden illness; she passed quickly in her own home in Homeworth. Nancy was a woman of God--a prayer intercessor. She had held many prayer gatherings in the Homeworth area, had traveled abroad on mission trips, and was well loved by people in many parts of the world. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Nancy was born in Sedalia, Missouri, to Alma and William (Bill) Cripe. She is the middle child of three siblings. She met her husband Jack while he was stationed at nearby Whiteman Air Force Base. They were married in Sedalia and moved to Jack's family home in Alliance, Ohio, where they lived for nearly 25 years, spending many days with Jack's extended family, who became very special to Nancy. They later moved to a beautiful country home in Homeworth - their dream home - for nearly 30 years. Jack and Nancy had two boys, both of whom are married and gave Nancy seven grandsons.
Nancy was the "heart of the family" as her sons describe her. She was an amazing host and loved having groups of people and family and friends at her country home at all times of the year. Usually, her groups were Christian prayer teams, supporting the work of the gospel throughout the world.
Nancy is survived by her husband of 55 years, Jack of Homeworth; sons Mike and his wife Kristina of Chico, CA and Jeff and his wife Renee of Medina; her grandsons Nathan, James, Nicholas, Hunter, Luke, Blake, and Hayden; her older sister Connie (Pete) Post of Blue Springs, MO; younger brother Kenneth (Sherelene) Cripe of Sedalia, MO; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 17, 2019, from 2:00 pm - 5:00 pm at High Mill Church of the Resurrection (1920 Schneider St NE, Canton). Her Celebration of Life Service will begin at 5:00 pm with her son, Mike, officiating. Private burial will take place at St. Genevieve Cemetery.
