Mildred E. "Midge" (Monter) Schott's Obituary
Mildred E. "Midge" (Monter) Schott, 75, of Alliance, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Aultman Compassionate Care Center in Canton. She passed away peacefully with her family at her side. She was born on June 11, 1939 in Alliance, Ohio to John and Margaret (Haidet) Monter and lived in Alliance for most of her life. A 1957 graduate of Central Catholic High School in Canton, Midge was formerly employed as a bookkeeper for Henry B. Ball Jewelers in Canton and also helped her husband at Schott Feed & Supply in various capacities. She had been a member of the Altar & Rosary Society and a school librarian at Sacred Heart of Mary Catholic Church. Midge enjoyed bowling, golfing, baking, traveling and attending sporting events. She also loved to sew and made clothing for her children and a quilt for each grandchild. With Midge s courage and strength, Gene s love, and support of her family, she endured her battle with leukemia for nearly two years. She always had a smile on her face and never complained. The family would like to thank Dr. Schmotzer and staff, 6th floor South, and 3rd floor Infusion Center at Aultman Hospital, and the Angels at Woodlawn Compassionate Care. Midge is survived by her husband, Gene Schott, whom she married on June 11, 1994; two daughters, Bev (Larry) Benjamin of Nampa, ID, and Barb (Troy Fitzgibbon) Reinsel of Alliance, OH; four sons, Dan (Lisa) Schott of Dover, OH, Tom (Carol) Schott of Paris, OH, Mike (Stacie) Schott of Alliance, OH, and Mark Schott of Alliance, OH; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; seven brothers, Jim Monter of Mountain Grove, MO, Jack (Carol) Monter of North Canton, OH, Jerry (Marcy) Monter of Paris, OH, Bud (Jan) Monter of Beloit, OH, Ed (Judy) Monter of Gaffney, SC, Dave (Helen) Monter of Akron, OH, and Denny (Belinda) Monter of Johnstown, OH; three sisters, Jean (Ed) Harper of Bluffton, SC, Pat (Al) Retone of Alliance, OH, and Sandi (Mick) Smith of Waynesburg, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
