Mildred Dean's Obituary
Mildred Dean, 86, of Deerfield, died on Sunday, March 17, 2002, at 6:37 p.m. at her home. Born in New Castle, Pa. on March 7, 1916, she lived most of her life in Deerfield area. Mrs. Dean retired from the Deerfield Post Office as Postmaster. She was a member of the Deerfield Lads and Lassies, and the Deerfield Civics Association. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Jesse Merrill Dean; three daughters, Effie Mae (Denzil) Deuley of Deerfield, Ellen (Donald) Reagan of Palmyra Twp., and Shirley Durieux of Polk; two sons Jesse Merrill (Terri) Dean, Jr., of Johnson City, TN, and Ed (Tracey) Dean of N. Benton; 17 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and nine great-great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her granddaughter, Tracey Lynne Deuley, her parents, Howard and Ida Ella (Shellenberger) Montgomery and her sister, Marian Montgomery. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home in Alliance on Thursday, March 21, 2002, at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Hartzell Cemetery in N. Benton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, March 20, 2002, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and also from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
