Mildred I. Beamer's Obituary
Mildred I. Beamer, 87, of Sebring, died on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Crandall Medical Center. She was born on August 13, 1920 in Magnolia, and lived in the Alliance/Sebring area since 1959. Mrs. Beamer was a member of the Science Hill United Church of Christ. Mildred and her husband Richard retired from the Carroll County Sheriff s Department, where she served as matron during her husband s tenure as Sheriff. She had also worked as a matron for 20 years for the former Fairmount Children s Home. She is survived by two daughters, Linda R. (Tom) Thompson and Dixie S. (the late Richard) Warner; a son, Merrill M. "Duff" (Cathy) Beamer all of Alliance; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; a sister, Mary DeAngelo of Newton Falls; five brothers, Henry Boyd of Harrisburg, OR, William Boyd of East Sparta, Samuel Boyd of Lebanon, OR, Paul Boyd of Mineral City and John Boyd of Mineral City; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Richard E. Beamer; her parents; a sister, Joyce; and a brother, Myrl. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Sunday, May 25, 2008 from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. John Truax of Science Hill United Church of Christ officiating. A private interment will follow at Zion Cemetery.
