Michael A. "Mike" Untch's Obituary
Michael A. "Mike" Untch, age 72, of Alliance, died on Thursday, March 17, 2005, at 10:25 p.m. at Green Meadows Health and Wellness Center, Louisville, Ohio. Mr. Untch was born July 24, 1932 in Alliance to Albert M. Untch and Ethel (Firth) Untch and lived in Alliance most of his life. After attending St. Joseph Catholic School, he graduated from Alliance High School and Mount Union College where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. While attending college, Mike worked delivering mail for the Alliance Post Office. After graduation he worked in the Timken Material Handling Department for 12 years, and then was employed by State Farm Claims Office in Canton until his retirement in 1990. He is survived by his former wife, Joy Colley (Glenn) Silverhart of North Canton; his cousins, the Branfield family, Barbara (Joseph) Caner of Alliance, Mary Ann Reigle of Lakeside, Kathie Bracy of Columbus and Cynthia (Chuck) Kreiner of Alliance, also his loyal neighbors, Raisa and Joe Teppert of Alliance, State Farm co-workers and friends, Dave Sasso, Joanne Hudak, Larry Paige, Tony Scarpitti, and Pat Lynn-Burger; and friend, John Anderson. Mike was preceded in death by his parents, and his best friends, Eddie Branfield, Roger Vogel, Nate Johnson, Guy Kirk, Luke Riley, and his State Farm friends, Mike Vincent, Hank Sarver, and Larry Faith. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00 - 12:00 noon with a Memorial Service beginning at 12:00 noon with the Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht officiating. Interment will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date. A special thank you to the staff at Green Meadows and Stark County Hospice for their care.
