Michael D. Landwert's Obituary
Michael D. Landwert, 69, of Alliance, passed away on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 at 11:30 p.m. at his home. Born on May 20, 1943 in Alliance, he lived in Alliance most of his life. Michael attended Sebring McKinley High School. A veteran of the Vietnam Era, he served our country in the U. S. Air Force. Mr. Landwert retired from the American Steel Foundries, and was a member of the American Legion and the Saxon Club. In his past-time, he enjoyed playing pool, traveling and watching westerns. Survivors include his wife, Alice "Marie" (Allen) Landwert whom he married on December 20, 2003; six daughters, Kim Haines, Theresa Aberegg , Betty Jo Wallace, Candy Hippley, Michelle Marino, and Sally Landwert; three sons, Timothy Hippley, Thomas Hippley and William Ault, III; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; a brother, Jerry Landwert; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was a daughter, Sheri Hill; a son, Wayne Hippley; his parents, O.C. "Lanny" and Naoma "Sally" (Cress) Landwert; and a brother, Barry Landwert. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, May 3, 2013 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. His funeral service will begin at 12:00 p.m. Interment, with military honors provided by the Alliance American Legion Post 166 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1036, will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
