Melvina E. "Betty" Craciun's Obituary
Melvina E. "Betty" Craciun, 89, of Sebring, died on Wednesday, March 10, 2004 at Alliance Community Hospital. She was born in Juniata County, Pennsylvania on June 14, 1914, and was a member of the Atwater Congregational Church. Mrs. Craciun had her own band, Betty's Rhythm Ramblers and played in the area during the late 1950's. She enjoyed music and played the organ, piano, and the accordion. She is survived by two nieces Linda Sandoval of Las Vegas, NY and Barbara Snyder of Ravenna; two great-nieces, Darlene Pepper of Ravenna and Kim Higgins of Washington; great-nephew, Ron Tripodi of Las Vegas; and four great-great-nieces; and four great-great-nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nick Craciun on August 21, 1984 (they were married on December 24, 1936); her parents, Edward and Carrie (Warner) Walters; and a sister, Celestial Sally Snyder. Funeral services will be held at the Marlboro Cemetery Chapel on Thursday at 1 :00 p.m. with the Rev. Joseph Peters officiating. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
