Melvin L. Marshall's Obituary
Melvin L. Marshall, Sr., 71, of Alliance, died on Sunday, December 28,2003, at 3:30 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. A lifelong resident of Alliance, he was born on February 27, 1932, and graduated from Alliance High School. He was a US Army Veteran serving in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Marshall was co-owner of Bry-Mar Mason Contractors for 45 years and had recently worked for his son, owner of Mel's Towing. He was treasurer of the Alliance Chapter of Korean Conflict Veterans and past president of the Alliance Moose Lodge #362. Survivors include his wife, Sue (Vicars) Marshall whom he married on July 8, 1955; three daughters, Pamela (Mike) DeGirolamo of Alliance, Diana (Bryan) Stanford of Las Vegas, NY, and Cindy Haney of Alliance; two sons, Melvin (Jeff) Marshall, Jr., of Alliance and John Marshall of Caseyville, IL; seven grandchildren, Jenny, Gia, Tony, Pam, Bryan, Shae, and Scott; three great-grandchilden; three sisters, Juanita Kay Worley of Alliance, Sandra Lough of Louisville, and Sheila (John) Penn of Claymont, Del; one brother, Marvin (Virginia) Marshall of Topeka, Kan; and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Glenn and Helen L. (Roughbaugh) Marshall; and a sister, Glenda Worley. Memorial services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 30, 2003, at 1 :00 p.m. with Terry Vicars, officiating. There are no calling hours.
