Mary Mae (Gang) Welsh's Obituary
Mary Mae (Gang) Welsh, 97, of Alliance, died on Thursday, July 5, 2007, at 10:15 a.m. at McCrea Manor where she had resided for the past two and a half years. She was born on May 1, 1910 in Alliance, and lived in Alliance until 1955 when she moved to Mississippi. Mary returned to Alliance in 1974 after the death of her husband. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mrs. Welsh was a life member of the Alliance Senior Citizens Club and had volunteered for many years with the American Red Cross in both the Corinth, MS and Alliance chapters. She is survived by her sister, Martha Conlon of Alliance; sister-in-law, Anna Mae Welsh of Alliance; several nieces and nephews; and especially her wonderful caretakers at McCrea Manor. She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry "Pat" Welsh on July 3, 1974 whom she married on July 26, 1933; her parents, Charles and Anna (Shaw) Gang; two sisters, Margaret and Catherine; and four brothers, Robert, Ralph, Charles and George. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, July 9, 2007 from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, July 9, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Msgr. James Kolp, as celebrant. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
