Mary C. Underwood 's Obituary
Mary C. (Eddy) Underwood, 77, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 following a lengthy illness.
Born on August 30, 1939 in Moundsville, West Virginia to Truman and Mary (Echols) Eddy, she lived in Alliance for most of her life.
An Alliance High School graduate, Mary also attended Indiana University and was a member of the First Christian Church.
Mary was employed at Alliance Community Hospital as Director of Central Services and retired in 1999 after 27 years of service.
Mary was an avid bowler, and bowled for the Alliance Community Hospital League as well as other leagues.
Survivors include her two daughters, Mary Ann (David Clark) Cox of Alliance and Virginia L. (Jake) Crowe of Atwater; her son, Billy T. (Lori) Underwood of Atwater; eight grandchildren, Gregory "Jason" Cox, Mistey (Larry Gordon) O’Neill, Shawn (Becca) O’Neill, Joshua (Adrian) O’Neill, Alex Clark, Emily Underwood, Hannah Underwood and David Burtnett; two step-grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janice Shively of Sebring and Judith McNeal of Alliance; a brother, Jarold "Jerry" Eddy of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Bill R. Underwood, whom she married on November 23, 1955 and died on November 6, 1996; a daughter, Billie Jo Underwood; and her parents.
The family will receive friends on Monday, January 30, 2017 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, with Rev. Aaron Phillips, of the First Christian Church, officiating. Burial will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
