Mary E. Tournoux's Obituary
Mary Elizabeth Tournoux, 61, of Alliance, passed away to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 12, 2024.
Mary was born in Canton, Ohio on February 26, 1963, the daughter of the late Richard Lewis Pinkerton and Norma Jean Matthews. She graduated from Marlington High School - Class of 1981.
Mary spent her early adult years working for her family's hair shop formerly known as “Super Snips” in Alliance, where she’s lived her entire life. She enjoyed reception work and learning the skills both her parents held in hairdressing, teaching, and being salon owners.
She married Dana on May 19, 1984 and soon had three daughters. She enjoyed her life, living for her family, making home cooked meals, continuing traditions, and helping the girls in school. She was very active in their dances, girl scout meets, and recreational activities. She devoted her life's work to being a homemaker to her husband and children. She loved being involved in her children's lives and encouraging them in any way that would lead them to a fulfilling life as an adult. She was blessed with three grandchildren which she cherished and loved deeply.
Mary loved dachshunds, cardinals, and watching sports. She always opened her home and enjoyed making others feel welcome like they had a seat at the table. She will be missed for her humor, wit, and way with words.
She is survived by her husband, Dana Tournoux; her three daughters, Andrea (Tyson) Scott, Leanna (Joseph) Brown and Erica Tournoux; her three grandchildren, Owen Scott, Shiloh Brown, and Jacyln Tournoux; her brother, Matthew (Shelly) Pinkerton; and step-mother, Bonnie Pinkerton.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, William Lee Pinkerton.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 19, 2024 from 9:00 am - 10:00 am at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her Memorial Service will begin at 10:00 am with Rev. Dave Dougherty officiating.
