Mary F. Stone's Obituary
Mary F. Stone, 97, of Alliance, died on Thursday, April 20, 2006, at 11:56 a.m. at her residence. Mary was born in Kittanning, PA, on October 23, 1908, and lived most of her life in Alliance. Mrs. Stone was a member of the United Brethren Church which merged with Evangelical United Brethren which then merged with the Vine Street Methodist Church. She was a member for 76 years. Mary was a member of the Otterbein Class, Ladies Aid and Willing Workers. Mary s hobbies were working crossword puzzles, crocheting, and loving her children, grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren. She read her Bible every night. She is survived by her daughters, Mary Elma Thellman and Catherine Linder, both of Alliance; five grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, William E. Stone on October 31, 1982; her parents, David and Mary (Bowser) Zeigler; a sister, Gladys Roesti; and three brothers, Jess, David and Herman Zeigler. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Friday, April 28, 2006, from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. Funeral services begin at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Tom Fish of the Vine Street United Methodist Church, retired minister, Rev. John Wolfe of Windham, OH, and Rev. Gordon Thomas of the First Baptist Church of Alliance co-officiating. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
