Mary Skivolocke's Obituary
Mary (Valentine) Skivolocke, 96, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, March 15, 1989 at 4:11 am at Alliance Community Hospital in Alliance, Ohio.
Born on March 25, 1892 in Goshen, Ohio to Jacob and Marina (Odorizzi) Valentine, she lived in Alliance for most of her life.
Mary was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and their Women’s Guild.
She was also a member of the Trentino Alpine Club.
Survivors include three daughters, Doletta (Forrest) Gallina of Alliance, OH, Helen (Albert) DeStephen of Alliance, OH, Doris (Robert) Runion of Sebring, OH; two sons, Frank Skivolocke of Austintown, OH, Louis E Skivolocke of Alliance, OH; 19 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; a brother, Henry Valentine of New Philadelphia, OH; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Marina (Odorizzi) Valentine and Jacob Valentine; her husband, Louis Thomas Skivolocke, whom she married on October 7, 1916 and died on September 15, 1985.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 16, 1989, from 7:00 - 9:00 pm at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, March 17, 1989 at 10:00 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Alliance, with Fr, Frank Carfagna, as celebrant. Burial, will immediately follow at Highland Memorial Park.
