Mary Jane Schott's Obituary
Mary Jane Schott, 89, of Alliance, passed away on Friday, March 2, 2012, at 8:20 p.m. at Altercare of Alliance. Born on June 28, 1922 in Marshalltown, Iowa, she lived in Alliance most of her life. She was a graduate of North Platt High School, in North Platt, Nebraska, and retired from the Armour Abrasives, after being employed there for 32 years. In her past-time, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors include her two daughters, Linda (Phil) Geisse of Alliance and Lana (Jack) Sweet of Columbiana, OH; four grandchildren, Lora Oyster, Lee Geisse, Dale Henderson and Bret Henderson; ten great-grandchildren, Jacob, Daniel, Mary, Matt, Mandy, Kristen, Kimmy, Kara, Ashlyn and Logan; two brothers, William Roberts of Vermillion, OH and James Roberts of Sandusky OH; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her first husband, Dale Barnhill in June of 1945 , whom she married in 1940; her second husband, Walter Schott on May 30, 1987; whom she married on May 27, 1966; her parents, William and Ilo (Meekins) Roberts. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Her funeral service will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. John Bush of Greenford Christian Church officiating. Interment will follow at Atwater Cemetery.
