Mary (Grove) Profeta's Obituary
Mary (Grove) Profeta, 86, of Bardstown, Kentucky and formerly of Alliance, died on Saturday, August 26, 2006, at 10:26 p.m. at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown, Kentucky. She was born on July 4, 1920 in Leetonia, Ohio, and was a former resident of Salem, Alliance, and West Carrollton, OH and Lexington, KY. Mrs. Profeta was a member of the former Bethany Presbyterian Church in Alliance. While a resident of Lexington she was a member of Christ United Methodist Church. For many years, she was also a member of the U.R. Transylvanian Society and a member of the former Ladies of the Christopher Columbus Society in Alliance. Survivors include her daughter, Marie Donahue of Bardstown, KY; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one step-grandchild; two step-great-grandchildren; and one step-great-great-grandchild; a sister, Helen Mitchell of Riverside, CA; a brother, Leo Grove of Marlboro, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Serge Profeta on November 15, 1981 (they were married on December 30, 1939); her parents, Peter and Efrosina (Padorean) Grovu; two sisters, Ann Dan and Louise Kolesar; and three brothers, August "Gus" Grove, George Grove and Victor Grove. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, August 30, 2006 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, August 31, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. Richard Scherpenisse officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
