I knew Mary through her daughter Denise, as we ran track and cross country together. Mary and my Mom were some of our fiercest cheerleaders, and I can still hear them encouraging us from the sidelines. Mary was always there for her daughter and for all of us teammates. I was blessed to be reconnected with Mary these last few years when Denise would visit her parents. We’d meet up at Heggy’s for lunch. Mary always was genuinely interested in my life and my family. She was one of the kindest and warmest souls I’ve known. I loved reading about her love for adventure and travel! My heart goes out to her family during this time. One can’t help but smile when thinking of Mary. She is one of those people who made the world better by being in it, and she will live on through the hearts of those who love her.
