Mary Lyn (Polinori) Leasure's Obituary
Mary Lyn (Polinori) Leasure, 66, of Alliance, died on Friday, May 22, 2009, at Aultman Hospital. She was born on January 24, 1943 to Ugo and Jennie (Aquilo) Polinori. A lifelong resident of Alliance, she was a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church. Mary Lyn was a 1961 graduate of Alliance High School and graduated from Hannah Mullins School of Nursing in 1964. She had been employed as a LPN for 5 years at Aultman Hospital and 25 years at Alliance Community Hospital. Throughout her working career, she had also worked for several Alliance area nursing homes and had volunteered at Alliance Community Hospital. Mary Lyn was a member of Jaycee Women and was the first woman in Alliance to be inducted into the Jaycee Women Hall of Fame. A former member of the Carnation Festival Board, she helped to start the first Safety Town (now Carnation Careful City) and was instrumental in starting Junior Olympics and Kiddie City at Carnation Days in the Park. She also helped with the organization of donations for the Domestic Violence Center in Alliance. Mary Lyn loved her community and volunteered in helping others as often as she could. She enjoyed baking, especially cookies, which were enjoyed by many at numerous wedding receptions. However, her passion was spending time with her grandsons. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. Chris (Michelle) Leasure of Alliance; two grandsons, Nicholas Christopher and Alexander Aquilo Leasure; a sister, Novella (Dave) Hartung of Canton; a nephew, David Hartung of Cincinnati; a niece, Elizabeth (Mathew) Cathlina of Chicago; and several nieces, nephews & cousins. Preceding her in death were her parents, Ugo and Jenny (Aquilo) Polinori; and a brother, William H. Polinori. The family will receive friends at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Wednesday, May 27, 2009 from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m., with the Rev. Michael Seifert as celebrant. Entombment will follow at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
