Mary C. Johnston's Obituary
Mary C. Johnston, 85, of Alliance, died on Friday, November 15, 2002. A resident of Alliance for over 80 years, she was a devout member of the Salvation Army. Survived by five daughters, Esther Jane Rogers, Dorothy Louise Price, Katherine E. Jackson, Elaine M. Hunter and Lorna Swerana; seven sons, Melvin Bickley Jr., Guy O. Bickley, Oscar Johnson, Jr., James Johnson, Michael J. Mulac, Norman E. Bickley and Russell Hendershot. She will be remembered by her loving grandchildren, great- grandchildren, great-gryat-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Preceded by parents, Joseph Clyde and Mary Elizabeth (Heaton) Thompson; husband Oscar Johnson Sr., husband Melvin Bickley, Sr.; four sisters, Loretta Hunt, Sara White, Viola Greenless and Rosella Felton; and two brothers, Charles Thompson and William Davidson, Sr. A Graveside Service will be held at Alliance City Cemetery on Monday, November 25, 2002, at 11:30 a.m., with Major Cathryn Russell, officiating. The Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
