Mary Ellen Govern's Obituary
Mary Ellen Govern, 84, of Copeland Oaks, Sebring, died on Thursday, May 25, 2006, at 1:50 a.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. Mary Ellen was born in Beloit on August 14, 1921, and lived most of her life in the Sebring and Alliance areas . She formerly worked at the French-Saxon Pottery and then later became a beautician. Mrs. Govern was a life member of the B.P.O. Elks Ladies Auxiliary and the Widow s Club, and also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary of Sebring and the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary of Sebring. She enjoyed traveling, playing cards, dancing, and especially loved bingo. Mary Ellen s kindness and smile will be missed. She is survived by her son, Gary Govern of Cuyahoga Falls; two nieces, Joann Plegge of Beloit and Joyce VanEck of Dunedin, FL; and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis Govern in 1975; her parents, Earl and Maude (Tetlow) Lewis; and a sister, Helen Reynolds on July 8, 1996. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Sunday, May 28, 2006, from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 30, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. David Parry, Chaplain of Copeland Oaks/Crandall Medical Center officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
