Mary (Patterson) Ganslein's Obituary
Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mary (Patterson) Ganslein, 81, of Homeworth, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 17, 2006, at 12:20 p.m. at Essex of Salem II. Mary was born in Paris, Ohio on September 10, 1924. She lived most of her life in Homeworth before moving to Salem a few years ago. Mrs. Ganslein had worked for many years as an L.P.N. in several Alliance area nursing homes, including the former Jane Francis Nursing Home, Molly Stark Hospital, Bel-Air, the former Hutton's Nursing Home in Salem, the Minerva Nursing Home in Minerva and the former Goldstein's Nursing Home. She is survived by three daughters, Georgia (Jim) Transue of Beloit, Sharmay Martin of Salem, and Irene (Jan) Menough of Salem; a son, Shawn Ganslein of Canton; nine grandchildren, Ramon, Lonnie, Jennifer, Lee, Andrea, Amy, Jan, Shawn Jr., and Kevin; fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Joann Sarchione of Beloit; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clement Ganslein on May 30, 1984 (they were married on January 6, 1947); her parents, Egbert and Florence (Hawthorne) Patterson; brothers, William, Bobby and Pat Patterson; and a grandson, Kristopher Newhouse. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 22, 2006, from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, February 23, 2006, at 11:00 a.m. with the Pastor Robert L. Rowley of Believer s Christian Church of Salem officiating. Interment will follow at Liberty Cemetery in Minerva.
