Mary Ann Battaglia's Obituary
Mary Angelina (Hughes) Skivolocke Battaglia, of Stow, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at her home with her family at her side. Born in Baltimore, MD, she lived in Alliance most of her life and was a graduate of Alliance High School. She was the founder & former owner of Nana s Homemade Pasta Sauce in Stow. In her past-time, she enjoyed golfing, cooking, shopping, and playing games of chance. However, she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. Mary Ann was a beloved Mother, Nana and Friend to all who knew her. She leaves behind a daughter, Hiede (Matthew) Wheatley of Denton, MD; two sons, Frank Skivolocke of Orlando, FL; and Jefferey Skivolocke of Helena, MT; 3 grandchildren, Derek Skivolocke, Matthew Wheatley, Jr., and Colton Wheatley; a step-grandaughter, Jodey Wheatley; her companion of many years, Dennis Altieri of the home; a sister, Barbara Sue Peters of Homeworth; two brothers, James Hughes of Alliance and Jack Hughes of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, James S. and Rose V. (Favazzo) Hughes; and two brothers, William and George Hughes; and a sister, Jean (Hughes) Presley Agnew. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, September 6, 2012 from 3:30 - 5:00 p.m. Her funeral service will begin at 5:00 p.m. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
