Mary Lou Barrickman's Obituary
Mary Lou Barrickman, 84, of Alliance, died on Saturday, March 14, 2009, at Crandall Medical Center in Sebring. She was born on January 14, 1925 in Alliance, the daughter of Harry and Mary (Unger) Brogan. A graduate of Alliance High School, she married Joseph Barrickman in 1943. Before retiring, she worked at Carlisle s Department Store in Ashtabula, Ohio and had previously lived in Florida and Marietta, Ohio. While living in Marietta, she was the house mother for Alpha Xi Delta Sorority at Marietta College. She moved to Copeland Oaks in Sebring, Ohio in 1997. In her past-time, she enjoyed reading and especially loved spending time with her family. She is survived by seven children, Mary Jo Duncan of Marietta, Tom (Peggy) Barrickman of Florida, Mark Barrickman of Florida, Wendy Barrickman of Greenville, SC, Steve Barrickman of Painesville, Ohio, David (Debra) Barrickman of Ashtabula, Ohio and Connie Cosgrove of Geneva, Ohio; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Betty Leonard of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents and a sister, Marjorie Johnson of Sebring, Ohio. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, March 21, 2009 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. A Memorial Services will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. JoAnn Dota, Chaplain for Hospice of the Valley, officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park.
