Mary Ann Izotic's Obituary
Mary Ann Izotic, 98, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 20, 2017 at 8:55 am at Danbury Senior Living in Alliance, Ohio.
Born on August 15, 1919 in Canton, Ohio, to Andrew and Mary (Horvath) Ferencz, she lived in Canton all of her life. She graduated from Canton McKinley High School in 1937.
Mary was a long-time member of the former St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Canton. She was a member and former President of their Altar Society and their Mother’s Club.
Mary was employed at the Timken Company during World War II, and she worked for Harry London, the candy maker, during his start at his home.
She was a former President of the Fairmount Garden Club in Canton; and was a member of the National Council of Catholic Women and the Canton Garden Club.
Mary had taught “International Folk Dancing” at the former Jewish Center on Market Ave. in Canton, and was a long-time participant with her Hungarian heritage in the International Festival.
Mary was the ultimate party planner, pastry maker, and all-around do-gooder.
Survivors include daughters, Diane (Andy) Perduk of North Canton, OH; Rosemary (Michael) Burke of Alliance, OH; son, John Randolph Izotic of Canton; and Gregory (Wanda) Izotic of Canton. Also surviving are eight grandchildren, Andrew, Paul, David & Matthew Perduk; Jack, Melissa & Jason Miller; and Lauren Izotic. 16 great-grandchildren, Drew, Evan, Cole, Logan, Jillian, Benjamin, Alexander, Matthew, Madison, Victoria, Gabrielle, Megan Ann, Natalie, Jacob, Ella, Ava & Sadie. All of her siblings are surviving, which include Helen Popick, Andrew Ferencz, Charles (Sue) Ferencz; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death were her husband, John Michael Izotic, whom she married on Sept. 19, 1941, and died on Nov. 21, 1994: her parents.
Her Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at 10:00 am at St. Michael Catholic Church in Canton, with Fr. Donald King, and Fr. Patrick Manning as con-celebrants. Burial will take place at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in Louisville at a later date.
