Mary Ann Hoover's Obituary
Mary Ann (Zavarelli) Hoover, 82, of Alliance, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 4, 2024 surrounded by her family.
Born on May 7, 1941 in Alliance to Anthony and Josephine (Cicarelli) Zavarelli, she lived in Alliance for all of her life.
A graduate of Alliance High School, she also graduated from the Salem School of Nursing.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Maximo and their Altar and Rosary Society.
She volunteered at Alliance Community Hospital for many years, and was a longtime member of a friendship caroling group.
Survivors include her five daughters, Terri (Warren) Schneider, Tracy (Joe) Mendel, Trish Hoover, Trina (Tim) Terveer and Tana (Dan) DeShane; ten grandchildren, Katie (Clay) Wolf, Emily (Nick) McCowin, Lauren (Chris) Choler, Olivia Schneider, Kirsten Mendel, Joe Mendel, Michael Terveer, Megan Terveer, Landyn DeShane and Dominic DeShane; five great-grandchildren, Alayna, Grayson, Roman, Callum, and Wyatt; brother, Louis Zavarelli; sister-in-law, Judy Searfoss; several nieces and nephews; and her furbaby - "Snickers".
Preceding her in death her husband, Robert L. Hoover, whom she married on June 10, 1961; her parents; and a brother, Vince Zavarelli.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 10, 2024 from 8:30 am - 10:00 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Maximo. Her Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 am with Rev. G. David Weikart, as celebrant. Burial will immediately follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Maximo.
