Martha Mae (Folk) Yukich's Obituary
Martha Mae (Folk) Yukich, 90, of Alliance, died on Sunday, September 25, 2011, at 9:30 p.m. at McCrea Manor. She was born on December 11, 1920 in Alliance and lived in Alliance all of her life. A graduate of Alliance High School, she had received a BA in Education. Mrs. Yukich had been a lay teacher at the former St. Joseph Catholic School. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, where she had been a Eucharistic Minister, Pastoral Minister, and Friendly Visiting Minister. She was also a member of St. Joseph Women s Guild and the St. Martha s Circle Rosary Group. She retired from the former Buckeye Village, where she was employed as Deli Manager for many years. In her past-time, she enjoyed playing cards and crocheting, but especially loved her time with her grandchildren. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Steve Blake of North Canton; a son and daughter-in-law, Doug and Priscilla Yukich of Alliance; five grandchildren, Dennis, Katie, Mary, Josh, and Rudy; three great grandchildren, Eric, Christopher and Shyla; a brother, Frank Folk of Moreno Valley, CA; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John & Jo Yukich of Magnolia, OH; and several nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Rudolph Anthony Yukich, on December 3, 2002, whom she married on August 1, 1942; a son, Dennis Yukich on January 25, 1984; her parents, John D. and Katherine (Schneider) Folk; two sisters, Elaine Carnahan and Frieda Allen; and four brothers, John Folk, George Folk, Mike Folk, and Carl Folk; and an infant grandson. The family will receive friends at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 28, 2011 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. Matthew M. Mankowski as celebrant. Entombment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
