Martha R. (Sommers) Potts' Obituary
Martha R. (Sommers) Potts, 85, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 1, 2012, at 5:25 a.m. at Canterbury Villa. Born on October 1, 1927 in Salem, she attended Salem High School and lived in Alliance most of her adult life. She was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church. Martha enjoyed reading scripture and making crafts, including jewelry, dolls and ceramics. Survivors include two sons, Gerald R. "Jerry" (Bonnie) Potts of Limaville and Randolph C. "Randy" Potts of Alliance; her daughter Rose A. (Craig) Boyce of Alliance; four grandchildren, Amy (Mike) Servello, Jason Potts, Michael (Tabi) Boyce and Kenna Boyce; two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Bernice Hilliard of Alliance, Gladys Jurina and Ruth Chandler, both of Lake Wyles, S.C.; a brother, Joseph Sommers of Cartersville, GA; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death was her husband, Harry C. Potts in August of 1999, whom she married on September 30, 1949; her parents, John L. and Pearle B. (McConner) Sommers; three sisters,Thelma Dales, Eileen Roof and Irene Sommers (infant); and six brothers,John Jr., Ralph, Emmit, Samuel, William, and Charles Sommers. Her memorial service will be held at Cornerstone Christian Church on Monday, November 5, 2012, at 6:00 p.m. with Elder Clif Baum officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Arrangements are by the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home, 1000 S. Union Avenue, Alliance, Ohio 44601.
