Martha Jean McLeod's Obituary
Martha Jean McLeod, 75, of Alliance, died on Sunday, July 9, 2006, at Mercy Medical Center. Martha was born in Alliance on May 14, 1931, attended Alliance High School and lived all of her life in Alliance. Martha loved to travel. Her favorite trips were to Germany and Scotland. Antiquing was a big hobby of hers as well as knitting. Mrs. McLeod was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church and the Woman s Circle. She also was a member of the Jane Bain DAR and Pythian Sisters. She was a devoted mother and enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely. She is survived by her husband, Clyde Donald McLeod (they were married on April 12, 1947; a daughter and son-in-law, Merry Anne McLeod-Wolfe and Keith Wolfe of Alliance; a daughter and son-in-law, Terry Lou (McLeod) Moore and Greg Moore of Big Prairie, OH; a son, Steven Ellis McLeod of Alliance; a son and daughter-in-law, Lt. Col. Scott Donald and Holly McLeod of Bellville, IL; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Elles H. Stenger; and her mother, Mary E. Fitzgerald. A Memorial Service will be held at the First United Presbyterian Church on Friday, July 14, 2006, at 4:30 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. William J. Sadler officiating. There will be no calling hours.
