Martha J. Hammel's Obituary
Martha J. Hammel, 71, of Alliance, died on Wednesday, June 25, 2003, at 8:05 p.m. at Alliance Community Hospital. She was born in Sistersville, West Virginia, on May 15, 1932, and lived in the Alliance area most of her life. Mrs. Hammel is survived by six daughters, Karen Polly Harvey of Alliance, Carolyn D. Grimes of Alliance, Patricia Middleton of Alliance, Lora Wimer of Marlboro, Beverly J. Fortune of Alliance, and Sandra Pinkerton of North Benton; a son, Jack Hammel, Jr. of Alliance; 17 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Myrtle Mikes of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Hammel on July 14, 1998; her son, Dale Edward Hammel; her parents, William Bailey and Minnie (Grimm) Light; and three brothers, Johnny, Gail, and Tom Light. Friends may call at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Saturday, June 28, 2003, from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Randy Payne of the Alliance Baptist Temple, officiating. Burial will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
