Martha R. "Ruth" (Votaw) Soles Braidic's Obituary
Martha R. "Ruth" (Votaw) Soles Braidic, 84, of Alliance, died on Thursday, December 23, 2004, at 4:10 p.m. at her residence. Born in Sebring, on July 21, 1920, Martha lived all of her life in the Alliance area. The owner of the former La Michelle s Ceramic Shop, she retired from the former Alliance Ware Crane Company where she had been employed as a spray painter. Mrs. Braidic attended St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was a member of the Moose Club, Dante Club, American Legion, and was a life member of the VFW Auxiliary. She is survived by three daughters, Judith K. (Donald) Pittman of Salem, Jodene (John) Rasile of Alliance and Pauletta J. (Dallas) Montgomery of Salem; one son, James R. (Brenda) Smith of Dunedin, FL; nine grandchildren, Gaydawn Wolff, Kimberly Law, Dawna Schrieber, John Rasile, Jr., Cheryl Rasile, Diana Phillis, Dallas Scott Montgomery, Michael Smith, David Smith; 12 great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Szekley of Pearland, TX; a brother, Orrin Elwood Kunkle of Sebring; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, George Matthew Braidic of 28 years on July 12, 2000; her parents, Raymond and Anna Beulah (Brendlinger) Votaw; and two brothers, Raymond Votaw and Robert Votaw. The family will receive friends at the Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m., with the Rev. Pete Kunkle and Rev. Fr. Donald L. Feicht co-officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Park.
