Mark L. Sherwood's Obituary
Mark L. Sherwood, 65, of Alliance, died on Thursday, January 7, 2010, at 1:43 p.m., at Alliance Community Hospital. He was born on February 15, 1944 in Barberton, and lived in Alliance most of his life. A graduate of Alliance High School, Mark retired from GM Lordstown and was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In his past-time, he enjoyed bowling. Mark is survived by his constant companion, Karen Buchanan; two daughters, Lesa (Jeff) Monty of N. Canton and Lori (Troy Baum) Sherwood of Alliance; two sons, Mark (Tracy Brady) Sherwood of Alliance and Michael Sherwood of Alliance; six grandchildren; four sisters, Geralyn Noble of Las Vegas, NV, Becky (Doug) Zeigler of Atwater, Laura (Mike) Florea of Alliance and Beth (Joe) Corbi of Hartville; seven brothers, Tom (Aiko) Sherwood of Akron, Kevin (Linda) Sherwood of N. Canton, Gary (Cathy) Sherwood of Uniontown, Terry (Gerry) Sherwood of Gainesboro, TN, Bob (Theresa) Sherwood of Oakley, CA, Brian (Cassie) Sherwood of Magnolia, CA and David (Linda) Sherwood of Lexington, KY; a brother-in-law, Ed (Toni) Oswalt of Issaquah, WA; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death was his wife, Nancy (Oswalt) Sherwood on January 13, 1995, whom he married on August 22, 1965; his parents, Lee and Francis (Thesing) Sherwood; and a sister, Judy Newton. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, January 11, 2010 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Monday, January 11, 2010, at 7:00 p.m. with the Rev. Fr. Michael Seifert of Regina Coeli Catholic Church officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
