Mark S. Ferlotti's Obituary
Mark S. Ferlotti, 49, of Alliance, died on Monday, October 24, 2011 at 11:20 a.m. after a valiant 13 year fight against a cancerous brain tumor. He was born on March 26, 1962 in Alliance, and was a graduate of St. Thomas Aquinas High School. He attended Ashland College and graduated from University of Nevada, Las Vegas, receiving a Degree in Hotel & Restaurant Management. He worked for a number of years in Las Vegas in the hospitality industry and moved back to Ohio where he started a business and raised a family in Novelty, OH. During that time, Mark s entrepreneurial spirit was evident in his ventures in the restaurant and catering business. Until 2005, he owned and operated Special Events Services in Chesterland, OH where he specialized in wedding planning and corporate events. He had been a member of Regina Coeli Catholic Church. He was a past President of Kappa Sigma Fraternity - Kappa Alpha chapter, UNLV. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing, cards and being with family and friends. He is survived by a daughter, Rebecca Ferlotti and son Aaron Ferlotti of Novelty, OH; his parents, Philip and Kay (King) Ferlotti of Alliance; a sister, Marsha (Scott) Ruske of Plainfield, IL; two brothers, Michael (Patty) Ferlotti of Fuquay Varina, NC and Chip (Theresa) Ferlotti of Fairfax, VA; five nieces & nephews, Teresa, Tony, Matt, Colleen, & David; an aunt, Carol Ferlotti of Alliance; and several cousins. Preceding him in death were his grandparents, Charles & Mary (Sineri) Ferlotti and Earl & Dorothy (Spencer) King; and several aunts & uncles. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, October 27 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Regina Coeli Catholic Church on Friday, October 28 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
