Marjorie Ann McLaughlin's Obituary
Marjorie Ann McLaughlin, 73, of Alliance, died on Saturday, July 21, 2007, at 5:30 p.m., at Aultman Hospital in Canton following a brief illness. She was born on December, 27, 1933 in Steubenville, and lived in Alliance most of her life. She was a graduate of Alliance High School. Marjorie was of the Protestant faith and a supporter of many Christian ministries. She was a waitress for the former Canteen, and then Heggy s for most of her working life. She had a strong love for cats, growing African violets, viewing nature, jigsaw puzzles with friends, reading and a recent enthusiasm for her new computer. Marjorie is survived by her sister, Dolores "Dee" Byers of Alliance; three nieces and nephews, her youngest niece and primary care giver, Barbara Byers Chira of Cleveland, Bruce Byers of Magnolia, TX and Miriam "Timmie" Chandler of Bainbridge Island, WA; and five grand-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Douglas Lee Glass in 1970; father, George M. Owen; mother, Elizabeth E. (Williams) Owen; and step-mother, Margaret (Gunall) Owen. The family will receive friends at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, July 26, 2007 from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home on Thursday, July 26, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Alliance City Cemetery.
