Marilyn J. Oyster's Obituary
Marilyn J. (Sefert) Oyster, 93, of Alliance, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Altercare of Alliance.
Born on December 10, 1928 in Alliance, to Harry W. and Emma Vedna (Snyder) Sefert, she lived in Alliance all of her life.
A 1946 graduate of Alliance High School, Marilyn was a member of First Immanuel United Church of Christ where she was the secretary for over 40 years.
Marilyn was a life member of the Stark County Genealogical Society.
Survivors include her daughter, Suzanne (Bradley) Domer of Alliance; her daughter-in-law, Lora Oyster of Canton; three grandchildren, Jacob, Daniel, and Mary Oyster; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Robert T. Oyster, whom she married on April 16, 1950 and who died on October 22, 1997; a son, Steven R. Oyster; her parents; two sisters, Kathryn Slifkin and Linda Rogers; and two brothers, Lowell J. Sefert and Harry J. Sefert.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home. Her Memorial Service will begin at 2:00 pm, with Lynn Shetzer, officiating. Private burial will take place at Fairmount Memorial Park at a later time.
