Margaret Schneider's Obituary
Margaret "Sis" (Cassidy) Schneider, 92, of Alliance, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 11:05 pm at Altercare of Alliance.
Born on March 1, 1926 in Alliance, to Joseph and Margaret (Marchel) Cassidy, she lived in Alliance for all of her life.
Sis was a graduate of Alliance High School where she had been a cheerleader.
Margaret was member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the B.P.O. Elks, Lodge #467, Ladies Auxiliary, Alliance Shrine Club, Kadesh Corp. Ladies Auxiliary and the Alliance Senior Citizens.
Margaret was Co-owner of Schneider Dance Studio, a fourth generation dance instruction business. Sis had previously been a Dance Instructor for the former Cassidy Dance Studio for 30 years. Simply stated, dancing was her life. She also enjoyed traveling with her family and friends.
At the time of Sis’s death, she was survived by her daughter, Kristy Wheatley of Alliance, however, Kristy passed away on July 13, 2018. Sis’s survivors also include her grandson, Brian Wheatley of Alliance; and several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her in death was her husband, Thomas Schneider, whom she married on February 15, 1947 and who died on January 18, 1979; her parents; her sister, Mary Curran; and seven brothers, Joseph, Clifford, Charles, William, Paul, Bobby and Edwin Cassidy.
The family will receive friends of both Margaret “Sis” Schneider & her daughter Kristi Wheatley on Thursday, July 19, 2018 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Sharer-Stirling-Skivolocke Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Margaret “Sis” Schneider & her daughter Kristi Wheatley will be offered on Friday, July 20, 2018 at 10:30 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Rev. Matthew J. Mankowski as celebrant. Burial will take place in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
